Celtic Media Festival

The Celtic Media Festival was held at St Ives this year – the fourth festival to be held in Cornwall and the second in St Ives!

The festival brings together the best of Celtic media and awards torcs for achievement in a number of screen, radio and new media categories.

Cornish speakers Elizabeth Stewart and Jowdy Davey made an excellent job of presenting the award ceremonies alongside presenters from Radio Cornwall and it was very good to hear several award winners trying their hand at some Cornish as well.

Due to the presence of the festival, Welsh television channel S4C screened a documentary filmed before and during the festival about Cornish language and culture as well as the festival itself. The programme is available on S4C clic until 12th May, so there are still a few days left if you haven’t seen it!
