Pirantide

Once again we are at the point where we start looking forward to Pirantide.

St Piran Play Every year the list of events gets longer, which is why we are giving you ample notice of them! It is also an excellent opportunity to focus on increasing the use of Cornish and once again MAGA will carry some easy phrases on the website and will be encouraging everyone to use them widely.

Last year at this time we highlighted the growing use of Cornish on Twitter and the start of the ‘I pledge’ group on Facebook . Both have flourished over the past year. Many more projects and initiatives are under way, and the number of schools and other organisations using Cornish and celebrating Pirantide has also grown tremendously.

As Cornish speakers we tend often to focus on the difficulties and frustrations in front of us and don’t step back and appreciate just what has been achieved and what is now happening, due to the tireless work of so many people. Perhaps this Pirantide we should do just that and celebrate a little – in Cornish of course!
