Have your say

Your views are important to us, so make sure your voice is heard by telling us what you think.

The Community Engagement Strategy 2009 sets out our approach to community engagement. It highlights our commitment to improve our coordination of consultation and engagement activity. This is both within the Council and with our partners.

You can have your say about Council matters and issues in a number of ways. The links below will direct you to more information. This includes how to let us know your views about services and specific Council issues that we are currently consulting on.

Our latest consultations, with links to the surveys, are listed below:

  • Porthtowan parking and traffic review - Cornwall Council and Cormac Solutions are engaging with residents and users of Porthtowan village to identify issues on Beach Road, West Beach Road and Sandy Road.  We’re keen to hear your views, thoughts and concerns about the current traffic situation and how you feel that this could be improved.  The survey closes on 14 September 2018.
  • The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) is consulting on their draft proposals for a new pattern of electoral divisions in Cornwall. The proposals are to reduce the number of Cornwall Councillors from 123 to 87 which mean that the current electoral divisions across Cornwall have had to be redrawn by them to reflect that reduced number. To let the LGBCE know your views on the proposed new boundaries visit the LGBCE website
The consultation closes on 17 September 2018.

You can take part in our specific service consultations using the links in the section below.

The Council recently undertook a residents' survey in 2017, and also previously in 2014 and 2016.

The Council undertook a Stakeholder Survey in 2017 and in 2016.

We consulted on our draft business plan and budget proposals, during November and December 2017, for increasing Council tax, charges for some services and reducing or stopping providing some services.
