The Community Engagement Strategy 2009 sets out our approach to community engagement and commitment to improve our coordination of consultation and engagement activity within the Council and with our partners.

You can have your say about Council matters and issues in a number of ways; the links below will direct you to more information on how to let us know your views, about services and specific Council issues that we are currently consulting on.

Our current consultations, with links to the surveys, will be listed below:

  • Planning documents linked to the Local Plan
    We have recently consulted on five important planning policy documents:
    • Cornwall Site Allocations DPD - highlights locations for development within Cornwall. Closed 7 August
    • Cornwall Infrastructure Levy Draft Charging Schedule - sets out proposed CIL rates for development (residential and non-residential). Closed 7 August
    • Minerals Safeguarding DPD - proposals to safeguard mineral resources and infrastructure. Closed 7 August
    • Terrestrial European Sites Mitigation SPD - sets out approach to mitigate recreational impact of new housing and tourism growth. Closed 24 July
    • Biodiversity SPD - sets out approach for protecting or improving nature within development sites. Closed 24 July
  • Our Residents' Survey 2017 will be sent to 27,000 randomly selected households in Cornwall. The survey asks questions about Cornwall Council and the services we provide. 

    The survey is being carried out on our behalf by Marketing Means, an independent research company. Closes 21 August

  • The National Highways and Transport (NHT) Public Satisfaction Survey will be sent to 3,300 randomly selected households in Cornwall. The survey collects public perspectives on, and satisfaction with, Highway and Transport Services in Local Authority areas. The results will be published in October 2017
