The Building Control team would like to invite you and your colleagues to a free CPD Seminar on ‘Burning Issues’ - The Hazard of Painted Walls and Ceilings.

Courtesy of Crown Paints

Crown Paints is one of the UK's largest and most successful paint manufacturers with a rich history extending back over 200 years.

The Crown Paints CPD covers a wide range of core topics. We feel these are important to the Continuous Professional Development of:

  • Architects
  • Building Surveyors
  • Structural Engineers and
  • Specifiers

The problem of fire spread across painted walls and ceilings is being more widely recognised and acknowledged.  This seminar discusses the solution offered by flame retardant coatings in restricting flame spread in buildings, within the context of changes to legislation as a consequence of the regulatory reform (fire safety) order 2005, which applies to all non-domestic buildings and the requirement within it to carry out fire risk assessments.

Dates and venues:

  • Friday 4 May 8:30 – 11:00 in Room 2, Chy Trevail, Beacon Technology Park, Bodmin, PL31 2FR

Refreshments will be provided.

To book your place please email or phone Michelle Heyes on 01209 614469 or Sue Truscott on 01726 223481

We look forward to meeting you at this event

Following the annual review of our service costs, we would like to inform you that the Building Control fees will be increasing by approximately 5% with effect from 1st April 2018.  (Please note: that these increases do not apply to ESconsult).

We are, of course, pleased to continue to offer bespoke fee quotes for work that sits outside the scope of our standard charges.

The LABC has launched a suite of 250 Registered Construction Details (RCDs) to help you combat the problem of cold bridging in construction that will minimise heat loss through the weak junction points in a building’s outer envelope.

We are focusing on providing our customers with excellent customer service. Our commitment is to make sure that your Building Control experience is stress free and undertaken in an efficient and reliable manner.

To help us to achieve this, from 1 April 2018 we will be changing the notification period for booking site inspections. Instead of the “booking on the day” system, please contact us before 5pm on the day before you would like the inspection.
